Who will do justice and righteousness in the land? Who will be known as “The Lord our righteousness?” This is from Jeremiah’s prophecy in Jeremiah 23:5,6. This is about Jesus. The problem was the Jews were looking for someone to march in with power but Jesus humbly arrived as a baby in a stable. They were looking for an earthly king. A king who would come to them in earthly majesty and power who would defeat the worldly powers that ruled them. They were looking for freedom in Israel and Jesus was bringing freedom for their hearts. Not just for Israel but for everyone.
